ROAD TO RECOVERY
PROGRAM
The purpose of this program is to provide free transportation to Northern Michigan
Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan for cancer patients who need radiation therapy treatments. The Volunteer Center
works with the American Cancer Society to maintain a van that will safely and comfortably transport up to 5 patients a day.
Over 80 volunteer drivers have completed training. Otsego
County started the first-ever Road to Recovery van-based program in Michigan! We have since been a role
model to other start-up programs.
Volunteers make it happen!

Thank
you for your compassion and commitment. ♥
NOTES TO OUR DRIVERS Winter Reminder:
A general 'rule of thumb'
for the winter schedule is if area schools are closed, the van will not run that day. If the roads are cleared by 10:00
a.m. and we feel it is safe enough to travel, the Volunteer Center will call the driver to let them know the van will still
operate that day.
Also, please be sure to check the windshield washer fluid when you fill up the van and empty
the trash.
Thanks!
